Byonics USB Drivers

This page provides USB driver support for Byonics Products.

CH340/CH341 Drivers

The Byonics MicroFox 50 and the current BFoxCon cable use a CH340 USB chip and require a CH340/341 driver. If the drivers built into your computer do not include this, you can download it here.

FTDI Drivers

The current Byonics TT-USB, USB-2.5, and GUA cables contain FTDI chipsets and require an FTDI VCP driver. If the drivers built into your computer do not include this, you can download it here.

Prolific (PL2303) drivers for Windows

Byonics no longer ships cables with PL2303 chips, but if you have an older cable, this may help. If you have trouble with a blue BFoxCon USB-TTL cable, or if you see the text "THIS IS NOT PROLIFIC PL2303. PLEASE CONTACT YOUR SUPPLIER." then we recommend trying the older version of the PL2303 drivers with the instructions below.

PL2303_Prolific_DriverInstaller_v1_12_0.zip - Download from byonics.com

• Download the PL2303_Prolific_DriverInstaller_v1_12_0.zip file from one of the two links above.
• Extract the downloaded ZIP file.
• Run the PL2303_Prolific_DriverInstaller_v1.12.0.exe file to install the version 3.6.81.357 driver to your computer.
  You may need to right-click the EXE file and Run as administrator.
• Run Device Manager and under Ports (COM & LPT), find the problem device.
• Right click the device and select Update Driver.
• Choose "Browse my computer for drivers".
• Choose "Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer".
• Select "Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm Port Version 3.6.81.357 [9/4/2015]" and click Next.
• Click Close and the COM port should now be available.

This has been confirmed to work on Window 10 Home and Windows 11. If you try it, please let us know if you were successful, and which product and Windows version you are using.
